Rebuilding trust in journalism
The Goethe-Institut South Africa in partnership with Media Monitoring Africa and the German Embassy is hosting a series of free talks to investigate what the Future of Journalism might look like.
The talk last night, titled “Financing Journalism” examined the complex minefield now facing the industry when it comes to funds.
In addition to declining levels of trust and credibility, the media sector potentially faces the challenge of survival.
There are inadequate funds coming from online platforms and competition from social media.
