The dispute over wages in the public sector is continuing.
Members of the National Education, Health and Allied Workers’ Union protested at the Union Buildings in Pretoria yesterday.
For months, NEHAWU has been demanding that a 2018 wage increase agreement between workers and government be implemented with immediate effect. However, government has asked to review the last leg of the three-year pay agreement saying it doesn’t have the money.
To discuss the practicality of this agreement, amid the countries current finances, as well as in terms of what the law says, we’re joined by Magate Phala, who is a Labour Law Specialist.
