As we continue living through the COVID-19 pandemic, and with crimes such as gender-based violence and kidnapping seemingly on the increase, a teenager from Limpopo has created a novel defence mechanism.
16 year old Bohlale Mphahlele has invented an alert system which can track victims of human trafficking and also capture images of the perpetrators. The device is small enough to fit on an earring, and she hopes it will help police with quicker identification of perpetrators.
