The crippling drought gripping the Eastern Cape continues to make life harder for residents. Butterworth is one of the hardest-hit towns and it has been on “day zero’ since 2019. Boreholes have been sunk, but only about half provide usable water. Tankers are also used to provide water. But the quality of the water provided over the past few days has left residents fuming.
