Next week South Africa will turn its attention to the scourge of gender based violence when the annual 16 Days of activism campaign kicks off. Despite this drive, violence against women and children continues unabated. Pre-empting the national campaign, the community of Duncan Village in East London took to the streets, demanding justice for victims. This in the wake of the alleged rape of a 14 year old boy by a man, aged 74. Our reporter Abongile Jantjies spoke to gender based violence activist from Masimanyane Women’s Rights International organisation, Dr Lesley Ann Foster.
