The state says that former president Jacob Zuma is to blame for the delays in the criminal case against him. It is responding to the applications by Zuma and French arms company Thales in the Pietermarizburg High Court for a permanent stay of prosecution.
Zuma and Thales face charges of fraud, corruption, money laundering and racketeering in connection with the multi-billion rand arms deal.
