Scores of spaza shops owned by foreign nationals and locals have been vandalized and looted by protesting Kwaggafontein residents in Mpumalanga. This comes after the offices of the local Department of Social Development, were torched yesterday afternoon. Police say they have made several arrests, and have opened cases of arson.
Protestors are saying officials have long ignored their service delivery concerns such as clean drinking water and job opportunities.
