The Consumer Goods and Services Ombud report: Magauta Mphahlele

The Consumer Goods and Services Ombud says it has seen a 60 percent increase in the number of its cases. This is mainly because of increased consumer awareness. The ombud launched its annual report for the period ending February 2017 in Pretoria today. In an interview with our reporter Liabo Setho, Acting Ombudsman Magauta Mphahlele says more suppliers are now subscribing to the consumer goods and services industry code and are also informing consumers about their right to approach it. She first outlines the type of cases her office deals with.
