* The South African Jewish Board of Deputies has requested a meeting with president Cyril Ramaphosa to discuss the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. The request follows South Africa’s decision to withdraw its ambassador to Israel after the killing of 60 Palestinians by Israeli forces during a protest along the Gaza border.
* The DA Federal Executive council’s second Deputy chairperson, Natasha Mazzone, says re-instated Cape Town mayor Patrica de Lille will have to operate in line with the DA’s principles until Friday next week.
* Police minister Bheki Cele says they will clamp down on perpetrators of violence against women, children and other vulnerable groups.
