Police and soldiers stormed a wedding at Nseleni near Richards Bay in KwaZulu-Natal, arresting at least 53 people, including the bride and groom. They are accused of contravening the Disaster Management Act. A tip-off led police to the wedding. Cellphone video shows the bride, in her bridal gown, being assisted in a police van alongside her partner. The suspects have been detained at the Empangeni police station. The eMhlathuze Municipality has appealed to the public to adhere to the lockdown regulations. The couple and the guests are expected to appear in court after the lockdown. That’s one nuptial cut brutally short.
