SA is retraces its exile broadcast mouthpiece ‘Radio Freedom’

South Africa is retracing the footsteps of its broadcast mouthpiece in exile. Radio Freedom was used by South Africans in exile to send key messages back to the country. The Department of Arts and Culture has brought back all the equipment that was used by the station in Madagascar. The process will also happen in four other countries as part of the celebrations of 25 years of South Africa’s democracy.
SABC reporter Bulelani Phillip spoke to one of the broadcast veterans, Sibongile “Promise” Khumalo about her experiences while working at Radio Freedom in Madagascar. He began by asking her how it feels to be back in the capital of Madagascar, Antananarivo, after about 38 years…
