It’s turning out to be a bleak festive season. Plagued with problems, Eskom says power outrages will continue for the rest of the week.
The country’s power utility says technical problems and persistent rain led to several coal handling challenges. Eskom moved to stage 6 load shedding Monday for the first time, which meant it had to remove more than 6 000 mega watts of power from the national grid or face a total black-out.
