Steve Biko was set against the burning of schools during protests, this after protesting learners torched a school in 1976 in his hometown of Ginsburg. His family firmly believes that today he would harbor the same feeling against the destruction of property on campuses during the fees must fall protests. His son, Nkosinathi Biko, says his father believed education was an integral foundation block for the emancipation of black people. The family also laid a wreath in his grave.
