A group of approximately 600 refugees have been living inside and outside
the Central Methodist Church in Cape Town since October 31 2019. This comes after they were forcibly removed by police from outside the UNHRC offices in the CBD. The refugees are demanding to be relocated to another country as they say they don’t feel safe in South Africa. While the refugees await the court’s decision on their future, we take a look at how the situation unfolded.
