Psychologist describes how mentally-ill patients were tortured

A former president of the South African society of Psychiatrists has told the Life Esidimeni hearings, how senior officials in the Gauteng health department ignored his warnings that patients could die if moved to NGOs. Doctor Mvuyiso Talatala says he raised the alarm several times, but it fell on deaf ears. He accuses the department of having a culture of not listening to experts.
