Processes in dealing with irregular appointments at the SABC

The SABC has started implementing recommendations regarding irregular appointments at the organisation.
At least twenty eight posts have been identified as having been irregularly filled.
The organisation is in the process of informing affected staff members before approaching the labour court.
The recommendations are contained in different reports including one from the Public Protector entitled ” When Governance and Ethics Fail”, another report from the Parliamentary Ad Hoc Committee as well as the SABC’s own internal investigations.

This morning we’re discussing what constitutes proper labour practices in dealing with such matters.
Joining us is Labour expert Khomotso Makapane who is a Head of Labour Law and partner in Dispute Resolution.
