Parliament briefed on ratification East Africa free trade agreement

Parliament was briefed on the pending ratification of the joint SADC, COMESA and East Africa Community free trade agreement, which was signed in Uganda two years ago. If ratified, the agreement will give South Africa access to a market of 626 million people, with a combined GDP of U$ 1,2 trillion. At least 26 African Union member states are part of the agreement.
