OUTA wants water regulator to fix water crisis

According to the South African Institution of Civil Engineering, the country’s bulk water resource infrastructure is not coping with the increased demand and is poorly maintained – making it at risk of failure. And while water supply infrastructure in major urban areas is satisfactory for now, the institution warns that it will need medium-term investment to avoid serious deficiencies.The Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse (OUTA) believes an independent water regulator will help fix the national water crisis – from failing infrastructure to pollution and bad management.
