Is the ANC ready to walk the talk on high youth unemployment, SOEs?

South Africa’s unemployment rate increased to highest level since Q3 of 2017 and Stats SA’s data show is now stands at 27.6 per cent in Q1 of 2019. The number of the unemployed has increased by 62 000 to 6.2 million from the fourth quarter of 2018. A rude awakening for Ramaphosa’s presidency and with growth anticipated at less than 1 per cent – some expect more unemployment to increase before it gets better. Professor Adrian Saville, CEO of Cannon Asset Managers and Professor at GIBS and Peter Attard Montalto, Head of Capital Markets Research at Intellidex join CNBC Africa’s Karabo Letlhatlha for this discussion.
