Rhodes University and the Department of Social Development in partnership with the critical studies in sexuality and reproduction research programme are co-hosting an international conference on Abortion & Reproductive Justice. The event taking place in Makhanda is a build up from two smaller conferences that took place in 2016 in Ireland and Canada – the conference seeks to talk to issues and problems relating to abortion in many countries. This conference will be of high interest and a big talking point not only for South Africa but the world at large, as it has attracted speakers from various countries, especially African countries. We cross to our reporter Iviwe Poti for more.
