In conversation with Parliament’s first female Serjeant-at-Arms, Regina Mohlomi

Parliament’s first female Serjeant-at-Arms is bowing out gracefully. On Thursday, MPs said goodbye to Regina Mohlomi who is due to retire this year after 8 years in the post. For 8 years she had carried the mace which is the symbol of the authority of the Speaker of the National Assembly, and she has led the President and Presiding Officers into the Chambers. She is also the person who has to escort MPs out of the House after they have been evicted. An EFF MP commended her, saying she approached them gently when she asked them to leave. We’re joined by Regina Mohlomi.
