The family of the slain 19-year-old Dean Jafta from Eersterust, East of Pretoria, say they are left with more questions than answers after they learned that Jafta was buried by the police. Dean Jafta went missing last year in May. Police found his body in Midrand shortly after he disappeared, with several bullet wounds. The MEC for Community Safety, Sizakele Nkosi-Malobane visited the Jafta family on Monday to inform them that the police made a mistake and gave Jafta a pauper’s funeral. Nkosi-Malobane called for heads to roll but the Jafta family say they want justice. Our Reporter Patricia Visagie has been covering this story since Jafta went missing, she earlier spoke to Jafta’s father.
