I am Thandeka Gqubule-Mbeki. This week South Africans have found themselves in the dark as Eskom implemented load shedding. This has left some people and businesses stranded. Some Gautrain passengers were left stranded last week Friday as trains were not operating between Midrand, Park Station, Sandton and OR Tambo International Airport due to power outages. Scores of frustrated commuters took to social media, blaming both Gautrain and state electricity utility Eskom for their failure to get to work and school on time, while others said they had missed their flights.
