EA Debate: Assessing Rwanda’s investment climate

Rwanda is one of the fastest growing economies in sub-Saharan Africa. Between 2001 and 2014 the average GDP growth was around 8 per cent yearly. This was followed by a slowing of the global economy in 2015/2016. In this panel discussion held at the Afreximbank AGM2017 in Kigali, Rwanda, CNBC Africa’s George Ndirangu discusses best practices from Rwanda’s investment climate with panellists: Robert Opira, DG, Trade and Investment in the Rwanda Ministery of Trade, Industry and EAC Affairs; Jean de Dieu Kagabo, CEO of Soft Packaging; Afrique Ramba, COO of BPR Atlas Mara; and Crystal Rugege, Director of Business Strategy and Operations at Carnegie Melon University.
