The South African National Defence Force and the Police are on the ground this Friday morning conducting a massive joint operation against gang violence on the Cape Flats. Delivering his budget speech in Parliament Thursday night, Police Minister, Bheki Cele, announced President Cyril Ramaphosa had approved the deployment of the SANDF.
Over the years, there have been several calls for the defence force to be sent gang prone areas.
