Long queues and slow service at public hospitals, due to a shortage of doctors will soon be addressed by the department of health in the Eastern Cape. The provinces’ health department has received the second biggest chunk of the provincial budget. A large part of this will go to the appointment of doctors and nurses. Just more than 23.5 billion rand has been allocated to the department by the provincial treasury for the next financial year.
