The Cape Town High Court has ordered the Democratic Alliance to reinstate Patricia de Lille as the executive mayor of the City of Cape Town. That is at least until a full bench will hear her other pending matters on the 25th of May. This comes after the party ceased her membership and subsequently removed her from her seat as mayor.
The DA kicked De Lille out following a radio interview during which she said she would resign as soon as she had cleared her name.
The party interpreted this as her wanting to resign as a member of the party.
