Low earning workers and the unemployed must help determine the value of their minimum wage. So says Democratic Alliance leader Mmusi Maimane. He was announcing his party’s rejection of South Africa’s agreed minimum wage of 20 rand an hour signed by labour, business and Government last year. The national minimum of three -thousand-nine-hundred rand for a 45 hour week comes into effect on May 1st.
