COVID-19 Lockdown | Over 2 300 cases of GBV reported since start of lockdown

Gender rights groups say the true extent of gender-based violence will only emerge after the lockdown. This as abuse is now being perpetrated in the confines of homes. Restricted movement is also making reporting more difficult. While there’s been a sharp drop in serious and violent crimes including rape. Over 2 300 cases of gender-based violence have been reported since the start of the lockdown.
