Coronavirus | SA health care system’s readiness to deal with COVID-19 pandemic

Government has started to roll out mass COVID-19 screening. Health Minister, Dr. Zweli Mkhize has visited one of the sites, in Heidedal, in the Free State. With over 44 000 tests, since the first diagnosis last month, South Africa has 1380 positive cases. Around 67 mobile laboraties have been deployed to help government reach its target of at least 30 000 tests every day. Senior Reseacher for Mapungubwe Institute for Strategic Reflection Zamanzima Mazibuko weighs in on this.
